Should I get an Acoustic Guitar or an IPhone 4?
My mum asked me if I want an acoustic guitar or an IPhone 4 for Christmas and I don't know which one I should get. I already have an iPod touch, a mobile phone and a computer. So what should I go with?
And if I got a guitar I would probably get into singing.
Nobody can tell you which you want. Unlike a piece of technology, a decent guitar will last many years and will never be "last year's model". And the skills to play it will last a lifetime once you learn them. But, to acquire those skills, you need to want to learn to play and be willing to put the time into practicing every day (almost) for months or years. Have you given any thought to lessons or some other method of learning (e.g.books or videos)?
- When tuning a guitar do you hold a fret? When you tune an acoustic guitar do you have to hold a fret down while you tune? When i tune to drop c or standard do i have to hold any of the frets or do i leave the strings open while i tune? I have an iphone app tuner if it helps Thanks, I was doing it right then. My high e string never gets picked up.

I see it in modern metal, but even Metallica has used it in the past You basically alternate between palm muted (usually) open notes on the low E, and clean notes on the A (generally on frets 5, 7, 8, 10, 12 depending if you're in dropped tuning or not Am I rambling or am I making sense? - What is a good free guitar tuner for the iphone? (i'm a beginner)? My friend just let me have his guitar because i wanna learn. It's a cheap guitar but i just wanna use it to learn the basics, Til i can afford a much much better one. Right now it's really out of tune and i'm having trouble tuning it. - Speaker help! (Acoustic Audio GX-350)? So I bought these speakers from eBay, http://www.ebay.com/...0552581662 not knowing I need a receiver to play music from it. I'm now stuck with these and I don't want to spend more money buying a receiver. Can someone please explain to me if there's another way to play music from these speakers? The only thing I really want to do with these speakers is connect my iPhone to play music from it.
