Should i skip on the iPhone 6 and wait for iPhone 6S/7?

My upgrade is coming up and i have the iPhone 4. So I'm really desperate for a new phone, but is it worth waiting a couple more months for the new iPhones to come to the market?

That certainly sounds like a wise choice, the new iPhone should be out in Sept or Oct.

The iPhone 6 is already available on cheaper deals than when it was new. It's a vast improvement over your iPhone 4, and a modest improvement over a 64GB iPhone 5s.

When the new model comes out it will be more expensive, and you'll already see questions on here from people people asking whether they should buy the next iPhone or wait for the model after that. Do that and you'll never buy any tech at all.

So it boils down to this: are you really desperate or not? If you're desperate then buy an iPhone 6 or 6+ and try to make sure you get the largest memory capacity model as they hold the best resale values and ensure greater future-proofing. Or buy a good, used, iPhone 5s 64GB, and get most of the iPhone 6 experience for a lot less money. In at least one aspect the iPhone 5s is superior the 6; the camera hardware is identical but the firmware for the camera on the 6 takes a great phone camera and ruins it with sharpening and image noise reduction algorithms which are so overly aggressive as to ruin the images.

Brand new tech is always at a price premium and is always buggy. If you can wait until at least next March then many of the bugs will have been fixed and the prices should start to drop. Only vain idiots with far more money than sense buy the latest gear as soon as it's been released.

  • Will there be a iPhone 9 next year or will they skip 9 and go to 11? I hope the next phone is a 9, I hate skipping numbers maybe not next year but within 2 years I bet they come out with another new phone, I just hope its called a 9 and not 11, the x isn't the number 10 its just for the 10 year anniversary
  • Why does my Pioneer car deck skip? I have a DEH-X6500BT. When I use it for Pandora, it doesn't skip, but when I plug my iPhone into it (or use the bluetooth connectivity) it will start playing a song for a while (usually around a minute and thirty seconds), and then I hear a whoosh, the song gets muffled, and it skips to the next song. What's up with this?
  • Why does my iPhone skip through music? Since I backed it up accidentally, the music won't play, I just click a song and it skips through the entire phones playlist until no songs remain, I can't listen to anything!
  • Why do some of my songs skip on iphone? Not skip the actual songs but during some songs, like sound garden or tool, their songs play and it skips and remixes or whatever and freezes. If that makes any sense. Kind of like back in the day where if you scratched your cd it skipped certain parts. I got the songs from my harddrive
