Should I switch carriers for the iPhone 5?

I just bought an unlocked iPhone 5 and it should be coming in the mail today or tomorrow. I have Virgin Mobile USA and they JUST announced that they are going to sell the iPhone 5 June 28th. I was planning on switching carriers to Straight Talk because I wanted to buy the iPhone for a while now. I just bought the sim for Straight Talk, but now I'm kind of in a puzzle. Should I send back the unlocked iPhone and buy the iPhone 5 on the 28th? Or should I keep it and go to Straight Talk? I love Virgin but the data and coverage is just spotty and the data is ok, not great, but mediocre. Straight Talk uses the T-Mobile towers (since i got the T-Mobile sim from Straight Talk), and the service for T-Mobile is really good here where I live. I just don't know. Please help. Thanks! Also, I know the price for ST is 45$ but a 10$increase won't be bad if it's worth having.

The $ goes in front of the numerals, not behind.

If you wanted to transfer to Straight talk because of the service then you can go ahead and transfer. Since you bought an unlock iPhone 5 then you'll be good to go if you use it with straight talk.

I think you should definitely stick with Straight Talk. You'll get the phone you want sooner, for less a month and you'll have better service. It's hard to say no to that.

  • Would I be able to switch carriers without having to switch phones? I'm with Consumer Cellular and I have an iPhone SE, but I'm thinking of switching carriers so that I can get unlimited data. I don't want to get a new phone because I've had my current one about six months, I really like it, and it works great. I'm not locked into a contract with Consumer Cellular. Would I be able to switch to another carrier without having to purchase a new phone?
  • If i switch carriers will I have to restart my phone? I want to switch carriers. Right now I have metro pcs but I'm planning to switch to T-Mobile. I got a new iPhone about 2 months ago so if I switch carriers I'm not looking on buying a new phone. So will I have to restart my phone to switch? Will I loose anything like pictures, apps, or stuff like that?
  • Should I switch carriers for the iPhone 5S? I want to buy the 5S, but right now I here that you can only buy the unlocked version for T mobile. Sprint, At&t, and Verizon all have it for a two year, $200 dollar contract. Should I switch carriers?
