Should I update my iPhone 4s to iOS 6.0?

I have a iphone 4s i tookit to a place and they unlocked it for me the company i have is H20. I'm currently running iOS 5.0.1 i don't know if i should update my iphone to 6.0. Will updating lock it or whatever so i won't be a able to use normally like i used too please help.

Don't do it. I had the iphone 3gs and my contract was finished over a year ago. I was waiting for the iphone 5 to come out and upgrade then. I unlocked my phone overseas last year so I could use it there with a local sim. About 45 days ago, I wanted to download an app, but it required that I update the software. I hooked it up to itunes and attempted to download the software on my more than adequate pc. Software didn't take and the only thing I could do was attempt to reset to original configuration (again thru itunes). After that I couldn't get out of the main screen (couldn't get signal). Took it to the iphone store and they attempted to download software, that didn't work. They basically said that the phone was a brick. So I ended up getting a new iphone 4s (with new 2 year contract) for $150. That sucks for me because three weeks later they announce the iphone 5 is coming out a couple of weeks later for $199. There's a 30 day return policy from Apple but I'm past that. Not sure if it will happen to you but I learned my lesson.
