Should I wear gloves when dealing with small electronic components?

I'm going to replace my iPhone 4S Screen. Which requires me to gut the whole phone in order to get to the screen. I'm pretty confident that it will be successful. But I'm aware that my oils or static can destroy (i don't know) the components. Would it be a good idea to wear latex gloves or something?

Added (1). What kind of gloves should I wear? Latex? Plastic? Plastic has static right?

Yes you should.,. I'd recommend like some of the like anti static gloves (or normal gloves with a bracelet type if thing like that) ik they make em do that way if you have static built up u won't shock or fry compnents

As long as they are tight fitting and you won't be hindered in your movements. The main thing to worry about is dust getting under/on the screen.

  • Winter gloves for texting and typing? I work nights and have to use a keyboard all the time. I also have an iPhone. I want to buy a pair of gloves in Delhi which I won't have to take off every time I use my phone or the keyboard. I apologize if I chose a wrong category

  • What electronic should I get? I really like the Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch, iPhone 4, or iPod Touch 4 Generation. How do I decide? The iPhone would be expensive, with the calling fees. THe Nexus's lack of rear camera and expandable storage is bad? And Samsung Galaxy is the best, for now. WHat should I get? I plan to be reading mostly, with an occasional web search or app. I have a Kindle TOuch, so E-Readers are out.
