Should the home button work on a iPhone 5s if the phone hasn't been set up?
If it hasn't been activated, it will only go through the activation sequence. You can't get to the home screen until activation is completed.

Hi, so a while ago I dropped my phone in water, I took it to a repair shop and they fixed it but when I got it back the power and home button didn't work, I turned on assistive touch so I can use my home button and turn off my phone, now I can't turn it on without using my charger or having someone text me, is there any other way I can turn it on without having to do that?
