Should we go to the hospital?

I'm 38 weeks and 6 days, we went to the hospital on wednesday as we thought i was 5cm dilated but was incorrect, in fact the baby was 3/5 engaged and i had the symptoms of preeclampsia but my blood came back negative. Today has been rough, i've been in and out of pain in my tummy, and lower back. My waters haven't broken, but i have shown almost over a week ago now.

I've been using an app on my partners iphone to determine the contractions and they seem to be coming quite frequent with the average of every 5 and a half minutes and lasting for roughly 1 minute and some seconds.

My partner wants to go to the hospital as he thinks the baby is coming but as i've said before my waters haven't broken, and what if the contractions are not as bad as what i'm feeling and i get sent home after travelling all that way and having all the tests done.

What are your opinions? All are appreciated thank you

And congrats first of all. Your partner is right! Go to the hospital IMMEDIATELY. Some womens water bag doesn't break naturally and may need to be broken by the doctor. Goodluck

There's no blood test for preclampcia.yes you should go to the hospital like right now. Some women can't break their own water.

I would not wait til your water breaks. Mine did not break until I was ready to push. If the contractions are consistent and you show progress they will not send you home.

I'd head in… You'd rather be safe than sorry!

And yes there's a blood test that helps with a preeclampsia diagnosis. (Just so you know!)

GO TO THE HOSPITAL! They useally bring you in when they are 5 minutes apart!

Don't wait for your water to break its likely not too. If they're that consistent for an hour you might want to consider getting checked.

I had my son at 38 weeks 5 days. I think you should go. My water broke 3-4 hours after being in the hospital, and 2 hours later, I had my son. You never know. It's best to go just in case. Congratulations by the way.
