Should you take your laptop and other gadgets on holiday?
Answer please.
Personally, I'd leave the laptop at home but keep my iPhone on me at all times. I'm guilty of being glued to a screen of one size or another for quite a lot of the time - and whilst it might be difficult to completely switched off from work, I think there are also some tangible benefits from just taking a break.
Although I do the majority of my work on a laptop, there's still quite a lot I can get done on my phone - so maybe it depends on the kind of work you do anyway.
And the kind of holiday you plan to embark on might also come into the equation. There's little point of bringing a laptop camping for example (even if you do have a solar battery pack or some sort of generator).
Also, getting away from it all and clearing your head can actually be beneficial. Spending time relaxing with family or friends will improve your general well-being, which should translate in your work. And you might just come back with loads of energy and a new perspective!
I would.
The whole idea of taking a Holiday or Vacation is to get away from the things you do everyday of your life and go out and have fun and relax from your everyday normal life. Where I go, none of that stuff would work any way, so it would really be useless to bring it along.
- Why should you always stay up to the date with the latest gadgets? I have a iphone 5 and want my parents to get me a 5s. I told my parents the 5s is faster, better battery, camera and ID scanner (I want that so bad: D) but my parents won't do it! So how can I convince them that you should ALWAYS stay up to date with the latest gadgets?
- What would you do if you were watching your favorite show, and your 20 year old kid turned off the TV so that you couldn't watch it? I pay all the bills at the house. I normally watch AHS once a week with my kid. This week, she told me to go watch it in my own room. I told her my TV wasn't working and we would just have to watch it in her room. She turned off the TV so that I couldn't watch it. Then, she pompously pulled out her iPhone and proceeded to watch it on her iPhone. What would you do if this happened to you?
- What technology should I take on holiday? I wanted to take my ipad mini for playing games or watching movies but didn't want to listen to music off it because I feel it is to big to take to the beach were as an iPod shuffle or nano is small enough to be discreet but I then i could take my iPhone 4 but I'm fed up of it and want to replace my phone with the htc one so is it stupid to take all this tech, has anybody got any buying advice
- What should I ask for this holiday season? My family celebrates both Hanukkah and Christmas so my mom is asking for my wish list since Hanukkah is early this year? I have a couple tops and scarves, some books/drawing books and some DVDs I want but I need some more things for my list! I already have an iPad iPhone laptop camera and iPod… And don't need anything else big or expensive like that!
