Silicone (soft) vs hard plastic iPhone case?

Will the silicone or hard plastics iPhone cases protect the phone more from dropping it?

Also, do life proof life cases really work well for dropping your phone or getting it wet?

I prefer hard because silicon gets dusty and stuff and i actaully just got a life proof case last week and it works like a charm! I went swimming with it, dropped it and i checked it all out afterward and its perfect! But if your willing to spend the money, lifeproof is the way to go

It really depends on the feel you want. Hard cases can crack easily, but silicone cases can be hard to slip in and out of your pocket quickly. The hard cases, if they crazy, can scratch the phone's outside, and possibly the screen. Silicone can bounce, so it can absorb the force and not break and easily. My brother's friend has an Otterbox, which makes it so protected that he can throw it full force at the wall and nothing will happen to the phone or case. MY friend has a case that's hard on the inside and soft on the outside so the softness will soften the blow of the fall, but you can still have the hard cover as well. It really depends on how much you drop it and your preference to the feels of the cases.

Hard plastic cases are far better when opting for shatter-proof cases. Those soft silicone cases don't protect the phone when dropped accidentally. And yeah the life proof cases are the best among all cases available for iPhone. So I would recommend going for the life proof case instead. Hope you find this meaningful.
