Smashed glass on iPhone screen, is it easy to fix?

The glass lens is cheap, but not easy to separate it. If you replace the iPhone 4s whole screen, it will be much easier. You can see the cost of the two parts from following
- Back of my iphone is smashed, is it easy to replace the back myself? So. I'm in idiot and dropped my Iphone on hard flooring in my bathroom. The front is fine, luckily. Otherwise I would of flipped out. I need to know if it is easy to replace the back, i've heard of multi color backings as well.
