Somebody offering me too much on eBay, seems like scam?
I'm selling my working water damaged iPhone 5 on eBay, started it at 370, which I thought was kinda high. I just received a message from an eBay user. They asked if they can pay me 670 for the phone, I don't get it. Why would somebody want to pay so much more. It seems suspicious. How do I figure out if this is a legit buyer.
Added (1). Well I don't understand how I would sell it to him for 670 when the auction has it at 370. Do I end the auction and tell him to pay me thru PayPal? I was always used to bidders winning an auction, then paying right there on eBay. Is there a specific way I should tell him to pay me? I've just never had someone send me a message and offer more (way more) than the asking price

Why would someone pay anything for a water damaged iPhone? I wouldn't.
Someone wants to pay double? Uh yeah - scam.
This scam usually involves them tricking you into using a fake PayPal website. It looks legit so you trust it. You ship the phone. But you never get any money since PayPal was never involved. So the "buyer" doesn't care if they pay you $670 or $6, 700. You are not going to see one penny.
Or you may have found the one person in the world who must have your phone and will pay whatever it takes to get it.
Ignore, it's a scam. Only ship to verified payPal address, never overseas, never use buy it now. Somehow document the exact phone you are sending as a common scam is to claim phone sent was broken, sending you back another broken phone then filing payPal charge back. For such items it's best to sell locally for cash in hand.

- Is this an Iphone scam on ebay? I was looking to by an Iphone 4s. I found one for 300 but it says New, missing original box, box says 32gb but is only 8gb. But the item name is Apple Iphone 4s White at&t 16gb. Is that a scam?
