Someone scammed me out of a PS4 online, what can I do? Call the cops?
Okay so me and this kid traded on Mercari an iPhone 6 for a ps4. But then I got the box that the iPhone was supposed to be in it was just a battery, but he got a ps4. What can I do? Can I call the cops? I know where he lives because I shipped it to him!
You ask him to open the box and prove that it's a IPhone 6 before you did likewise for your PS4.
Yes you can call the Police and tell them what happened - but in the case of second hand selling and shading -'buyer beware' comes into effect.
You could try but odds on its a fake address - even if it was he would probably just say it was in the box when he sent it.
Do you have proof of the transaction taking place like an invoice or receipt? Can you contact Mercari to inform them of what has happened? If it's yes to both answers then go through Mercari first and if they can't help you then go to the Police and report the incident.
But his fingerprints will be on the battery, what then?
And Mercari doesn't cover trades. And what is "Byers beware" so basically this guy got a ps4 from me and there's nothing I can do at all?
The cops will tell you it's a civil matter and it was your fault for not opening the box and verifying the phone worked before finishing the transaction
The cops won't do anything. If you know the guys real name and address you can sue him in small claims court. But what will you do if he says he gave you a phone and you are trying scam him by claiming it was only a battery? Were there any witnesses?
- Will it show up as a missed call if i call someone by accident for half a ring? So I accidentally called my ex on his iphone, but I quickly realized my mistake and hung up after a half ring. Like you know how when you're calling someone it rings, I hung up after the first riiiing. My question is, will it show up on his phone as a missed call? I tested it out on 2 friends. One iphone 5 and iphone 4. They both told me they didn't get a call. Am I in the clear?
