Someone scammed me on ebay, what can I do?
Hi, I bought a iphone off ebay, but the title was something like "iPhone 5s 32gb - guide", and they shipped me a guide for £200, can I can a refund?
File a complain thru Ebay. Or if you paid via Pay Pal file a complaint with them to.
But he said that he shipped it and it said in the description "this is not an iphone"
will i be able to get my money back
i have contacted ebay
As long as the description in the listing was accurate to what you were sent, it's not actually a "scam" and there's not a lot you can do.
It's a matter of "Buyer beware" - know exactly what you are getting before you pay.
You only definite way out is if the guide is eg. Not specific to the "32GB" iphone - if so, you are entitled to a refund as it's not as described.
It's not exactly a new problem, it's happened as long as people have sold things.

Note - UK Law as you use £.
On the possibility the seller was a "Business seller" rather than an private individual - in that case, you have 14 days from receiving the item to tell them you are cancelling the purchase as per the "Distance Selling Regulations". (Include that phrase in the message).
They are then legally obliged to refund the full purchase price. You have 14 days to return the item - and send it signed for / insured, as they can reclaim the money if they say they have not received it back.
Someone doing a stunt like that is more likely to be a private seller, most businesses value their reputations too much. There's no automatic right of return with a private seller unless it's "not as described".
Call the cops for advice
File a complaint with ebay, obviously its a trick, also give them bad feedback on their profile to warn others.
You can't do anything as it said in the first line it was a guide and said I the description it was not a phone. EBay will tell you it's your fault for not reading the listing correctly
It's a deliberate scam, the item was mis sold with a description that was intended to trick the buyer.
Get your money back from eBay.
If the seller was honest he would not have taken your money.
's like all the other stuff like USB memory that eBay allow to be sold with exaggerated memory size.
Don't be fobbed off these crooks are experts at tricking people.
eBay makes money out of it and allows it to continue.
