Speakers sound blown out when I play my music on the Aux cord?

So starting today I put my Aux cord into my iPhone 6 to connect to my Pontiac Torrent to play music, and the audio was absolute garbage! It sounded like my speakers were blown out, which scared me. But I went to my radio to see if it did the same and it was fine! I thought it was just the aux cord breaking, but I bought a new one after work and it didn't help at all. What is wrong with my auxiliary port?

Do you also have a phone charging at the same time? It can cause noise from grounding interference. If so try playing music with only the Aux. May trouble shoot using other audio devices.

Adjust the volume on your phone.

Use the volume on the radio, not the volume on the device… In other words, turn down the volume on the device - you are over modulating the signal and overloading the input signal to the radio. Your radio produces much better sound than your phone could ever produce. You only need a little to go a long way with your radio's amplifier.

You might also want to look into an attenuating adapter, which will do something similar through the cable, instead of reducing your headphone levels. But that should also tell you that you have been listening to your ear buds way too loud, and may permanently harm your eardrums.

Your phone is turned up too loud, overloading the input of the stereo. Turn the phone's volume down to where it sounds like music. If it won't go low enough, get an attenuating stereo patch cord- Radio Shack used to have them, but i got mine an Al Lasher Electronics, in Berkeley, Ca.

  • Is there an AUX cord for the 2007 Infiniti G35? I have a 2007 Infiniti G35 and it has an AUX port, but its a red, white and yellow aux port. I was wondering if they made an AUX core with one end PLUGGING IN (the side that plugs into. NOT the one gets plugged into) the to the red, white, and yellow part and the other end plugging into my iPhone to listen to music?
