Starting running - good iphone apps?
I want to start running as I haven't done so for about three years, are there any good iphone apps or any advice and tips people can give me.
Thank you
Added (1). Obviously tips on running
Tips for what? And I'm just trying to get her to answer so don't report me
This is astounding… Do you really think that there's something in your telephone that will tie your shoe laces? Wow.
Regardless of the programmes on your telephone, one day you have to put your shorts on, put your trainers on and leave the house, brave the outside world and… Wait for it - here is the killer - go for a run.
Apart from this my main tip is to put your trainers on and go for it. If you used to run about 3 years ago then you will still be able to remember the basics of what you used to do then - follow the same sort of pattern and that will do you well. You will be less fit for running than before but you will get that back again. Start slow and easy and try run-walking for the first few runs (run until you need to walk and then walk to recover enough to run again)
I've tried a couple running apps, the best one i found was "Runtastic" it has a free version to try it, although i got the pro version free as it was on offer one day.
It tracks you using GPS on your phone, plays your music, gives you voice feedback after a certain distance/time, you can use its own training programmes if you're aiming for a certain distance and you can upload your data onto social networks, including it's own where you can challenge yourself, or others to beat your time and pace.
However with the iphones battery it's best use it after a full charge or using the energy saving mode.
- What's a good camera for starting you tubers? So I've started my YouTube channel in Febauary (Shanique Xo ) and I love doing YouTube video, and I've been using the front of my iPhone 5C for one point of time, than I started using the back of my iPhone with the flash on. Now I want to upgrade just a little bit, and get a good camera that I can boost up my qauilty a little bit. What God camera that isn't too expensive that I can buy, maybe one with a view finder, but if not than one without one but that is good
- What GPS tracking iphone apps (cycling and running) can be used without a 3G signal? I have been using both endomondo and mapmyride for my running and cycling. When I came to track my mountain biking neither of the apps would start a workout because I was out in the sticks with no network connection. I wasn't expecting any live maps, but was expecting either one of the above to be able to track my coordinates by GPS, to be uploaded later. Shame really because I like the apps. Do they actually works without a network signal and I'm missing something?
- What are a good pair of headphones use with my iphone while running? I'm looking for a set of headphones to use on my Iphone 4S. I do a lot of running, and the stock headphones slip out of my ears. The curved Nike headphones also slip or don't fit entirely in my ear.
- Websites/iPhone apps for people starting out with jogging? I want to start getting into jogging/running so obviously I couldn't just go out and do a 10 mile run but I'm looking for a website or iPhone app (not ones that just track your run) that gives step by step builds up for increasing your running distance and stamina? Sort of like a basic training program. Any ideas?
