Step counting app doesn't seem accurate?
I have the pacer app on my iPhone 5S but it says I walked 8106 steps and it says that is 4 miles and I burned 1361 calories but I don't think that is even close. The steps seem accurate after my walk but none of the other things add up

I went to a open park (trees and buildings interere with GPS). And found a pretty straight walking path that had mileage posted. (curves can mess with GPS calculations of distance). I walked a mile and checked the app. Then i used a different app on the way back. The app with the closest to a mile won.
Fyi you don't burn 1300 calories from walking 4 miles, 1 mile (running) usually account for = 100 calories burned, even less if you are walking. Your app may include your calories burnt for living (BMR). 8000 steps seems correct for 4 miles, i ran 5 miles today and my step counter for my fitbit was 9000

My doctor is concerned that I don't get enough calories to eat each day due to my diet, and suggested that I get a calorie counting app so I can see if I get enough to eat, and possibly up the amount of calories I consume. I'm not trying to lose weight, but if you suggest a weight lose app I wouldn't object to trying it out. I'm willing to pay for this app too.
