Suddenly can't connect to the internet only on the laptop?
This happened last night after I uninstalled a few programmes I never use. My router and ISP is fine because the rest of my family can connect to the internet so it's obviously something to do with my laptop. It can't detect any other networks as well as my own router so it looks as if my laptop's been set to a wired network as opposed to a wireless network. Anyone know any solutions for this?
I've already asked this question but just wanted to specify that I'm using windows 7, my ISP is BT and the laptop i'm using is a Sony VAIO. I can't add in details into my previous question since i'm on my iPhone.
You need to uninstall your BT broadband and then re-install it.
This guy above clearly shouldn't be here.
It sounds like your laptop; as you said has been set to ethernet (wired) adapter.
If you're using windows 7. You can do this
1) Right click on the location of where your Wi-Fi bar would be
2) Click "Open networking and sharing center"
3) On the left bar should be the options: Control panel home, Change adapter settings, Change advanced settings"
4) Click on the "Change adapter settings"
5)Check if your Wi-Fi card has been disabled… It should say something like "Disabled,"
6) If so, on the menu it should say "Enable this device"
Voila, internet should be restored.
- Suddenly only my computer is not connecting to the Internet. Why A couple days ago my gateway nv53 running windows 7 suddenly shut down not too long after a virus was found, upon restarting the Internet is no longer connecting and saying it is connected with "limited access". My iPhone, Xbox, and other devices in my apartment still function normally and only my computer is not connecting. Any solutions? This is frustrating.
- Suddenly can't connect to college dorm Wi-Fi? I have an Asus laptop running windows 7. My friends laptops and my iPhone and tablet can all connect to the Wi-Fi here but recently my laptop hasn't been able to identify the Internet. Before whenever this would happen I would restart my computer and I could connect. But not not even that works.
- One laptop can connect to our home Wi-Fi network but no other devices can connect? We recently set up a wireless internet connection in our house. One laptop can connect to it (the one I'm currently on) but no other devices can connect to it. It says our "Network Security Key" is mismatched. I have tried typing in all the different codes on both the router and modem on both our second laptop and an iPhone 5. How can I fix this?
- My iPhone 4S only let's me connect to BBM, Internet etc when my Wi-Fi is on? I have to be at home with my Wi-Fi on for my iPhone to work, as soon as it's off it doesn't work and when I'm out it doesn't work, only texts?
