Superhub acquiring ip address?
Recently received the new virgin superhub. One of the laptops in my household connects to it perfect wirelessly and also does my iphone but the problem lies with my own laptop, it won't connect to it at all it keeps saying acquiring IP address. Can someone please help? I'm no technical genius with computers so step by step guide would be great if you do know the answer to solve my problem thank you
Go to the Network and Sharing Center by searching it from the start menu,
Delete the network if it's there, and then click Add.
You may have to put in the Hub name if it doesn't auto detect it.
Put in your WEP2/WPA/Wireless key found underneath your hub or on the back of it and input that key.
If this doesn't work, search Internet Options. Click the connections tab and hit 'Automatically Dial a Connection'. And if that doesn't work, make it 'Never Dial a Connection'.
Most networking end devices like pc use DHCP to automatically request and be assigned an IP address by a DHCP server (in this case it's probably your virgin hub. If the other devices connect then it is likely that either your laptop is not set to acquire DHCP correctly or you've not entered the correct SSID and password for the hub. Check this first. If that doesn't work you can manually set the ip address. How to do this is readily available on the internet just search but if not let me know and I'll try and help.
