Swapping sim cards for iPhone conversion?

I have a Samsung SGH T401G, but I want to switch to an iPhone. Can I simply buy an unlocked iPhone from eBay and swap my current sim card to change the iPhone to my info, contacts and carrier?

Yes, you can. What sort of SIM card does your Samsung phone have? The reason I ask is because different iPhone models have different SIM cards, and you are going to want to make sure your Samsung SIM will be compatible.

I'd recommend switching to Straight Talk if you looking into which network would be best… But there are several networks that will take your new/used iPhone.

  • Swapping phones on virgin mobile (iPhone 4)? I had an lg optimus v for vgmbl and just bought the iphone 4 for vgnmbl. Best buy activated the phone for me and everything works except the 3g. The 3g occasionally pops up but most of the time its a "o" symbol when it should be the other way around. I just noticed that 3g still works on my old optimus. Could it be that the signal is still going to my old phone instead of my iPhone 4?
  • Swapping Out T-Mobile for Verizon (iPhone 5)? What would be the best way to swap out a second hand iPhone 5 16GB for T-Mobile, for an iPhone 5 16GB for Verizon? I'm purchasing the iPhone from someone who is on T-Mobile, but I have Verizon. What would be the best decision when it comes to swapping? Will Verizon do an even swap for a Good Condition iPhone 5 to new iPhone 5? Or am I just going to get a credit towards the new one? How will it work? Or would I just be better off selling it and paying the difference for a new one?
