Switch device on verizon, change data plan required?
I have a droid x on verizon, but my phone broke and i wanted to use an old phone to replace it until the iphone 5 comes out in september. I have an unlimited 3g data plan right now that i want to keep, but in order to activate my old phone again verizon says I need to update my data plan. If I update my plan, will I permanently lose my unlimited data plan?
I don't understand why you just can't keep the plan as it is, since you're not changing anything but the phone. You need to ask them why this is necessary, and tell them you want to keep what you have.
I don't think so. I just got a new phone and I still have unlimited texting, but I got Internet too. I don't think you have to change anything. My parents (before I got my phone) kept the same data plan whenever they got new phones.
Yes, if Verizon forces you to update to a non-unlimited plan now, they won't let you go back later since they don't offer those plans anymore. The only way to keep your unlimited plan is to pay Verizon full price for another smart phone - and if it has to be an iPhone 5, you'll need to wait until September to do that (and in the meantime you'll be without a phone). But whether you wait or not, you'll be paying full retail ($500+) for whichever phone you get.
- What is data in a Verizon data plan? I just got an iphone 5 and am having some trouble. I know that data includes email, accounts and any internet websites (facebook, youtube, netflix). Does it use up data to have multiple internet browsers open even though I only look at one at a time? Is it possible to use up data when the phone is off? Also, is taking a picture, playing app games, listening to music, and siri considered to be "data" on the data plan? Is there an overall explanation for what a data plan is?
- Verizon upgrade/switch plan? I'm currently on my parents plan and am looking to go on my own I want to keep the same number and also see if I can use the upgrade from my parents plan before I switch over to my new plan.yeah this is a lot… I want the iphone 5 can I use my upgrade from my parents plan to get the phone then switch to my own plan with the iphone and not have my parents bill get charged? If anyone can help it would be great!
- I want to switch my old Verizon phone to a Verizon iPhone. How would I do that? My old phone is one if the small slide phones that red and black and the screen broke. I want to switch it to an iPhone I got from a friend. How do I do this?
- I want to get an iphone 5c, is it REQUIRED to get a data plan with it? I've never had a smartphone before, so I have no idea. I have AT&T now and I'm thinking of getting the walmart deal where you have to get a 2 year contract to get the good price. When I sign up for this contract will I have to change plans because a data plan is required?
