Switched from ATT&T to Verizon - BAD IDEA

I'm one city away from Pasadena, California. So, I'm not in the middle of nowhere.

I had two iPhones with ATT&T - no real issues, but switched them to Verizon after that contract was up because I know they cover a lot of area. I'm in real estate and in the homes up in the mountain area, I could get better service with Verizon.

However, in my house Verizon is TERRIBLE! We have two iPhone 5's and people say we sound 'muffled', calls drop, static sound, etc… Thought it was Apple, they exchanged one phone even though they couldn't find the problem. The 'new' phone from Apple did the same thing. It is for SURE a network issue.

Now, Verizon is trying to sell me a Network Extension box for $249… Help! It's 3G (they don't have 4G) and I really do not have the money. But, we have two people here fighting over the landline in the house phone because we're TIRED of people on the other line not being able to hear us.

Any suggestions other than paying the $249? I wish I knew this in time to get out of the contract, but just recently started working more from home.

Ask fer thr govimint descount. And writte it off as an ex-pense…

Once you used the credit card… You're stuck. Verizon "supposedly" has the best coverage. You might have to pay the extra $249 to have decent service. Live and learn… OR ask other carriers… Sometimes they'll buy the contract out…"sometimes"… If you switch to them… But since this is brand new I think Verizon™ stuck a hook in your mouth… This one-------------> Ask them if you can cancel. The worst they can say is NO.

  • Would it be a bad idea to get an iphone 4? I can get it for free, but is it too old? Will I not be able to do things on it that I could on another phone? What are the pros and cons of getting it?
  • Would be a bad idea to buy the iphone 4 now? I can't afford the iphon 5/s, but I did initially want the a samsung galaxy first. Anyway, I like to watch movies, listen to music and generally surf the web a lot. I also like to download a lot of apps and take pictures. Would the iphone4 be significantly inadequate now. If it helps I'm 18 and my parents can't afford and think it's morally incorrect to get me a iphone 5/s, but I'm not complaining.
  • Used iphone on ebay, good or bad idea? Thinking of buying a unlocked iphone on ebay. Is this a good idea? Will I have probs with activation? Can I use straight talk with it?
  • ITunes update idea, good or bad? Apple products are getting stolen and being sold for profit. But some iPhones have passwords and to remove is to restore backup from iTunes. My idea is if any iTunes account is on the phone, when you restore it will ask for password of the account on the phone. Rendering it useless for the thief or thieves. Is this idea good or bad? Or maybe it already exist?
