Switching Services on iPhone 5s?
I would like to get the iPhone 5s, but my contract is going to run out in a few months. I currently have service with AT&T and when it runs out, I'm going to switch over to another carrier. If I get an iPhone 5s with AT&T, can I switch it over to another carrier, or would I have to get a completely new phone.

There's a fee to get a new 5S while your contract is still going.
After it ends, you can have AT&T unlock it for you (they usually do it free if you're contract ends, but you have to ask). However, it will only work with GSM carriers. In America, that's AT&T and TMobile.
My advice is to wait and get the 5S when your contract ends, and get the 5S for the other carrier you want. The 5S is way backordered anyway…
Actually if you are wanting to move carriers then you will have no luck. Each iPhone is locked to a carrier. To beat this you need a unlocked or pay a hefty fee.
There's a fee to swap phones on the same carrier, but once you sign the iphone 5s to ATT, it will be locked. So if you wanted to get a new carrier, there will be an additional fee to unlock it.
- Will at&t services work in australia? (iphone 4G)? I'm planing to travel to australia for a month from america. I need my iphone gps to navigate through austrialia while walking around. For this, i'll be needing my 4G. Will at&t services work in australia, such as calling, texting, and most importantly--4g?
- What prepaid services can I bring my Sprint iPhone 4 to? I want to be able to bring my iPhone 4 to a cheaper prepaid service/plan (similar to virgin mobile, page plus, and metropcs). I don't understand "flashing", nor do I want to pay anyone to "flash" my phone for me, so that's out of the picture. I would love a list of cheap plans that would let me bring my own device that is a Sprint iPhone 4.
- Using location services on iPhone while cellular data is off? If I have turned off cellular data on my iPhone 5 and have location services on, will I be charged? In other words, do location services use cellular data when Wi-Fi is not available, even though I have turned off cellular data?
- Trying to activate my at&t gsm Iphone into straight talk services? So I'm on the site where you activate the sim card and where your supposed to put the Serial Number/ MEID/ DEC in but above it says ''If you have an iPhone that you bought at Walmart or through our online store, please enter your MEID'' clearly i didn't buy the iphone threw walmart or their online store its obviously like i said an at&t gsm do I still enter the meid serial code will it still work?
