Taking expensive iPhone on holiday to Spain?

I know this isn't really that important and a bit of stupid question but…
I really want to take my iphone 5 to Spain but I'm scared it'll get stolen as I've heard their are a lot of thieves in the touristy areas of Spain and I've actually experienced being burgled in Mallorca. I also don't want to accidentally drop it and smash it, but the camera on the iphone 5 are so good. I have an old iphone 4 but its camera isn't as good and it's a bit slow. It would need to be unlocked and I'd want it on the same number (o2).
I'm in a dilemma, what would you do?
What phone should I take?

Take it on holiday just buy a protective case for iPhone you can buy them from eBay or amazon for a few pounds or few dollors so your phone won't get stolen. And just put your phone in your jean pockets make sure they are tight so they can't pickpocket you

Just keep the phone on you like even in your hand. And there's a find my iphone app as well so if it got stolen you could go onto your friends iphone and it'll find yours and show you the location of your phone

Take it and just get it insured i took laptop and ip4 to malaysia and singapore and think it cost about £40 combined so its not a lot check tho coz ip5 will obviousl be more. Just DON't use it coz i was hospitalised and had to ring home to get medical records coz epilepsy told it would be covered on the phone insurance coz option i chose and guess what got home to a £1200 bill. Thats just for phone the epilepsy medical insurance i obviously got for some reason didn't cover me having an epileptic seizure so didn't cover hosp bills-dont ask! Phone was with orange at the time they would even discount it at tall coz it was a life threatening situation. So if any1 that reads this is with them cancel and run. Thats 1 of the reasons why i would make a claim on the fone even if i didn't lose it! Watch out insurance companys put in hidden clauses so they ALWAYS have a get out clause. 1 last thing-u should jailbreak your iphone then you can do stuff you want to do with your fone and not what apple want you to be able to do. Ring 02 but should be able to get another sim with same number think of it as a business they need multiple fones with same number.

Be careful not to let anyone near your phone. Buy an Otterbox for it, and dropping it won't be such an issue. Check with your provider about getting it unlocked, making sure you have a working sim card, and keeping your number. It shouldn't be too much of a problem. Such things are very simple, these days.

You were "burgled"? That means someone broke into your place and stole your valuables. Someone broke into your place?

  • Will my T-Mobile iPhone 5 work in Spain? I'm traveling to Spain next month and will more than likely be bringing along my iPhone 5 for the trip for use as a camera/iPod/etc. And was wondering if it would be possible to use it for texts, calls, and data as well? If so would this cost extra, or would there be a way to get it for free?
