Taking iphone 5 to Genius Bar?
My lock button and home button haven't been working recently, although I've taken very good care of it. I have had my iphone for less than a year, so it is still under warranty.
I have already called to reserve an appointment for tomorrow, but I still have a couple questions…
Will I get a new iphone 5 because the buttons are broken? Or a refurbished one? Or will they try to fix it there?
Should I take my screen protectors (front and back) off or take them off? Also, should I go there with or without a case on it?
I already know I should backup everything on it.
Screen protector you can leave it on the phone because even if you remove it you can't put it on new phone.
they will try to fix it if they can't they will change it for you and give you another refurbished phone not new one.
also you should keep you accessories, like case etc.
- What happens if you take a jailbroken iPhone or iPod to an Apple Store genius? Do they give you the "stink eye?" Do they say "I'm sorry ma'am but we can't help with hacked devices?"
- Is this a valid reason to make a genius appointment? My iPhone 4S has been fine but some apps crash will they fix it and will it come up in a diagnosis? Safari youtube as well as a few games would go straight back to home. Also I have a custom back (an iphone 5 back) can i request they take it off and give it to me
- Is the Genius Bar at Apple stores free? I just wanna see if they could fix something on my iPhone 5 it's not physically broken, I don't wanna walk in there without money and have them fix it and look like a dumb ***.
