Tethering iPhone to computer on Wi-Fi - does this use data?
So the internet in my room is terrible, but for some reason my iPhone connects just fine.
When I tether my iPhone (connected to Wi-Fi) to my macbook, the internet works.
Because I'm using Wi-Fi on my iPhone while tethering, is this using data?
Tethering is usually a term for using your cell phone basically as a modem, allowing the connected device (like a laptop) to access the internet using your cell phone's mobile data. If that's what you're doing, then yes you're using your incredibly expensive mobile date to cruise the internet on your laptop
