There's an iPhone 8 and an iPhone 10. But, no iPhone 7s. Next year will it be an iPhone 9 and iPhone 10s? Or is the iPhone 10 just 1 time?

I'm getting the iPhone X. I'll miss my 7 Plus, but I do this each year

The "s" designation is done. People tended to equate the "s" to mean a minor upgrade, so it's not what Apple wants for current and future releases.

Of course its not known what Apple will name them next year.

Your logic is flawed.

There was never an original iPhone s, nor an iPhone 2 or 2s either.

This year Apple wanted to mark 10 years so called their flagship model the iPhone X (iPhone 10). They also made sure that the lacklustre 7 got a bit more than a minor "s" upgrade.

So whatever Apple decide to call their phones next year is entirely up to them. You'll just have to wait and see, but personally I couldn't care less what it's called as long as it does what I want at a price I'm willing to pay.

Apple should've release iPhone 7S but instead of 7s they released 8 and X. Normally "S" models are "super/speed" models compared to previous phone. As a example iphone 5S and 6 has not much of huge different in performance. Of course 6 has bigger screen. Duh. But performances are almost same. Then 6s got lot of features. 6 and 6s has huge different in performance. And touch id also significantly fast than 6. That's the deal of every "s" model and it's precious model.

So what happened to 7S?
As i told before 7 and 7s has to be very different in performance. But apple can't improve that much in 7s because they have to keep it for 10(x). So they add the wireless charging and they had to change the back. Normally 6 and 6s body is same, 5 and 5s alson body is same. So if apple change the back of their new iphone they can't name it 7S. So they named it as iphone 8. I think apple is now running low on new ideas.

It's all a con job to sell more phones, who really cares? I'm old school, if I want to take pictures I use a camera, no one is convincing me that a pin hole camera can take decent pictures in this day and age.
I use a flip phone, much more convenient and doesn't break when you drop it down a flight of stairs.
For music most of the time I use a radio, you know the one built into your car, at other times vinyl (if I'm really into it) or an mp3 player. I tend to take what I think is useful and relatively cheap and use it.
Change is good but change for the sake of change is just selling your soul.

Definitely it will not be called the iPhone"cheapy". (that model will be even more expensive). It's the way any company "rolls". Waiting for the 3D technology to take off… Or the iPhone that can make me a drink… So I see 3D.

Apple in the current times is no longer an innovative company, so I currently use Android
