Transferring iPhone contacts from phone to sim card?
I'm selling my iPhone 4S and buying a Galaxy S3. If I go to an AT&T store can they transfer the contacts from my phone to my sim card? Syncing the contacts to my computer then manually putting them in the S3 does not sound to appealing.
You can't copy iPhone contacts to the SIM. The iPhone does not store or reference contacts on a SIM. The iPhone contact format is not compatible with a SIM; it has a lot more information than a SIM can contain.
The way to protect against crashes is to sync your iPhone to Address Book on your computer on a regular basis. This is how the phone is intended to be used.
You can copy contacts to another iPhone by syncing with Address Book on your computer.
Go to radioshack… Its cheaper there and they transfer contacts with a machine

Okay, say if you get a new phone (iPhone to iPhone 4) you take it to the store and get them to change your number from your old simcard to the new one that fits the new iPhone 4. Does the old phone not work anymore? And does all your contacts, photos etc stay on the old phone or go to the new phone with the new sim card?

If I buy an iPhone from an individual, can I take it to AT&T and have them give me a smaller sim card & transfer my information? Would I have to pay extra for it? Is it even possible?
