Turning my iPhone into a hotspot?
Does this add any additional cost onto my monthly bill?

Turning your Iphone into a hotspot lets you connect other devises such as a laptop to the internet via your phones internet when Wi-Fi is not available. You should not pay anymore on your monthly bill unless you run up your data package. Turning on Hotspot while you have an available Wi-Fi connection via your home or coffee shop is useless.
It depends which company you have i know ATT charges separately because its like making your own wireless router. If you're connected to WI-fi i'm sure all your other devices will connect to that Wi-Fi but turning your iphone into a hotspot is when you don't have Wi-Fi your phone becomes your own Wi-Fi for say your ipad and ipod.
