Unlocking an iPhone 4s under verizon?
I have a 2 year contract with Verizon for my iPhone 4s. I got it last august and I know after 2 years you can get it unlocked but I read some stuff online that if you are in good standing and you've had your phone/number for a certain amount of time. It was like 90 days or something. Which i've defiantly had it for. I travel out of the country a lot and thought it would be very helpful if I could use that country's sim card in my iphone but I took my iphone to my local Verizon store and they seemed very confused and told me to call global support or something. I do not roaming I want to unlock my phone. Also since Verizon runs on TDMA not GSM would unlocking it and putting a different sim card in it mess with the TDMA information when I return to the US?

The iPhone 4S is dual CDMA (for Verizon, Sprint, and related carriers) and GSM (for AT&T, T-Mobile, and related carriers).
Verizon will unlock the GSM side of the phone for international travel at your request. You need to contact Verizon customer service for that function to be enabled.
- Will iphone 5 from Verizon under 2yr contract come with SIM card slot? I wanna get a black 64Gb iphone 5 from version under 2yr contract to get it cheaper than paying at full price. I was wondering if it comes with a SIM card slot so I can unlock it cheaper on a website that unlocks phones even if its on 2yr contract. This way I can put a SIM card from any carrier since the iphone 5 from version is more of a world phone.
- Verizon unlocking iPhone 4s? So my friend gave me an iPhone that was from Verizon because he got an upgrade. If he contacts Verizon, (still is a Verizon carrier) will they unlock the iPhone so i can use it with my ATT carrier?
- Verizon iPhone 5 help! Unlocking? I have an iPhone 5 for Verizon. I was planning in using it in Tmobile. I tried putting a Sim but it doesn't even read it. I know for a fact they are factory unlocked. And yes they will work on Tmobile. But my friend sold me his phone and his service is still there but its not connected. Will restoring the phone through iTunes factory unlock it?
- Unlocking Iphone 6 under contract at at&t? We brought my phone in a shop and they told me to wait atleast 4 days. We've been waiting 5 or 6 days for it to unlock. It was under at&t and my grandpa gave it to me. I can't use it as I'm living in the philippines. Sim are not compatible. But until now phone still locked. Is it normal or do i need to panic? My mom's iphone has been immediately unlocked way back when 4s is the latest. But mine is just frustrating!
