Upgrading phone through Verizon, payments start over?

So, I've been thinking of upgrading from my Iphone X to the Xr, but I'm not exactly sure how it all works. I've paid $378.80 so far on my Iphone X, I would have to pay $126.20 to upgrade early, but my real question is, if I upgrade (trade-in) will that $378.80 that i've paid already go towards my new phone? Like if the full price of the new phone is like $1000 somthing, then will I already have up to &378.80 paid off on it, or will the payments basically start over? Like I ll have to start from scratch as I did when I first signed onto the contract?

The payments start over. You're paying the principal on the device you currently own. It's not a transferable credit.

That said going from an X to an XR is more of a… Sidegrade? Than an upgrade.

I think in the long run you'd probably be better off paying down what you have now and waiting til next years models to upgrade

  • What language should I start with to start developing iOS apps? If I want to develop iPhone apps, should I learn Python first or just go straight to objective C or learn something else? I have 0 programming skills and have only done some web development. I have a Mac and Xcode.
  • Upgrading Verizon Phone to Iphone? Today I got a text from Verizon saying that it is time to upgrade my phone, which I'm excited because I thought I had to wait to April. Anyways, how much do you think (if anything) would it cost to upgrade to an Iphone 4? I would look on the website, but I do not have the password. I'm trying to smoothly bring up me getting me an iphone or even a better phone. My dad has an idea that 17 years old should not & do not have iphone/smart phones, when in reality 12 year olds do.
  • My iPhone 4S keeps turning off over and over and over again? I was on my phone just listening to OM&M on pandora and going on twitter when all of a sudden it shut off and now it's stuck on the turning off screen for like an hour or two. What do i do I'm FREAKING OUT.
  • Is it possible to do monthly payments with iPhone SE? I was thinking about getting the new iPhone SE but I don't have all of the money right now, I'm 13 so I have no income, besides $5 a week allowance so I could do $20 per month. Will Apple let you pay monthly? And if so can you choose how much you pay? I plan on getting the iPhone SE rose gold unlocked 64gb by the way:3
