Boy advice needed NOW

We met at my 2nd cousin 1nce removed wedding, but we were there for the groom because we're related to his mother and he was distantly related to the grooms father. I looked really pretty with my hair straightened and a pretty dress etc. My sister and I moved to sit at a table with less older people i was in sixth grade.don't ANYONE tell me i was too young. We invited all the other young people over to sit with us, including our real cousins and him. The wedding was held at a museum, so when we got bored we decided to look around.eventually me and him went off by ourselves downstairs, and we sat on the stairs talking. (how romantic, now that i think about it) eventually we went back upstairs and joined the others, and the dancing started. It was not really a couples thing, more like group dancing, and we all sort of ran wild the rest of the night. When it was time to say goodbye, i gave him my phone number and he gave me his. (but we also got the numbers of the other ppl there) this was a year and a half ago. I was really clingy. Not good but i don't like thinking about that now. All i know is he lived in the same town as me, but i never saw him after the wedding.again, not good. We did talk on the phone a lot and stuff tho. Eventually we just stopped talking toeach otherr and i was mad at first and deleted him from my phone, but then i forgot about him. I was in sixth grade and he 8th, so yeah.
4 months ago i was editing my email contacts and i found his email. I decided to see how he was doing. I emailed him "hihaven'tt talked in 4evs!"
anyway, we started talking on the phone again and emailing. (he had his iphone stolen so hedidn'tt have a phone)
five weeks ago we were just talking on the phone and he was like, "hey, i'm having a birthday party bbq thing, want to come?"
and i was like,"i don't know" but inside i was like OMFG HE ASKED ME OUT! Does that even really count as getting asked out? At that point i had not seen him in over a year since the wedding and i did not remember him as particularly cute.nice, but not cute. So ididn'tt really have a crush on him, i think i mostly just wanted him to stay my friend. It was a family bbq party, so my dad and sister came along, which was not as bad as i thought it would be. I met all his friends and his family and stuff. He was super nice. He gave me a bunch of hugs (good right?) and stuff. When it came time to open presents, he sat right next to me on the couch and then did the yawny arm thing. I saw him at the party and was like DAYUM you are Way hotter than i remembered. After the party i got kinda nervous cuz he wasn't we didn't talk as much as we did before but we still talked. The week after the party he asked me if i wanted to go see a movie with him. I said yes, but both our parents were sort of like, "no way, you can't go alone!" so we ended up going to see a screening with my mom for iron man. It was really fun and awesome i was sorta dissapointed when he didn't try to hold my hand or anything. Does anyone know why that is?
after the movie messed around the lobby and met the moviemaking people. Then we wanted to go for ice cream, but my mom said no. She took us to this super fancy restauraunt and it was really cool. We were laughing and staring in amazement at all the weird things the restauaunt had. We sat at this little table and my mom went away (to give us space?) it was sorta late. He bought me and him a piece of chocolate each (a good sign?) and we talked and ate it. Then we left and generally had fun. After that, two weeks later, he did not already ask me out again but we still talked on the phone and stuff so i decided to ask him out. He said he wanted to go but me being stupid i forgot he had plans with his bro that day so he couldnt.
now its 2 weeks later.nothing has happened. We havnt had a phone conversation in a while, but we text and email. Also his phone is not working so when i text him and he texts me back i don't get a response. Which is really annoying. I don't know what to do. I don't want to text him cuz we sort of have a pattern he text me first 2 times then me him 2 times, then 1 1, then 2 2. And i've already broken that pattern and texted him first 3 times in a row now. Do you think he doesn't like me? Or he forgot me? Or he just thinks i'm a friend? Or what? Help! I'm hoping that since i mailed him an invite to my birthday in a month, when he sees the invite he will text me, but i can't stand waiting for him!

I think he likes you! Next time you talk to him, see him, email him, etc, try and make it seem like you want to be more than friends. Also, I don't think he could forget you. You're really lucky that you can keep up a friendship without seeing someone for a year. Those kinds of friendships don't just get forgotten.
