USB Devices turned off (too much power being used)?
Hi, so I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro. It's been working fine until today when I got the message in the top right hand corner of my screen that I needed to "Unplug the USB device that was using up too much power to re enable USB devices." (pictured) The thing is: all my programs are closed and the only thing I have plugged into my USB port is my iPhone… It's charged fine until now… So does anyone know what's wrong and more importantly how to fix it (because I can't charge/sync/back up my phone)?! Thanks!
USB Devices turned off (too much power being used)?
Your phone is drawing power via the USB port. Try providing power to recharge your phone with a wall charger. The draw is too much. Software has nothing to do with drawing too much power.
The problem stems from phones using USB to recharge and sync up. Better design would be recharge use a different USB port than the one for data. But it won't help you now.
Get an ac charger and use that to recharge phone and use USB port for data transfers. Problem solved.
- USB drawing too much power from mac? When i plug my iphone 5 into my mac with the charger it came with and nothing else in the other USB port it says "Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled. To prevent damaging your computer, the USB device drawing too much power has been disabled. Other devices may have also been disabled. When you disconnect the device drawing too much power, your other USB devices will be enabled again."
- My iPhone turned off by itself and turned back on while using a app? When I was on YouTube my phone just shutted off by itself then turned on. Is there something wrong with the phone. Also when I click my home button one time the phone sometimes wouldnt come on till the second click. What can I do?
- My iphone 4 froze, screen turned green and turned off? I was playing a game i regularly play when it froze. I let it sit there for a couple minutes, I pressed the home button and the screen turned green, It was green for a minute. It shut off and won't turn on. I plugged it into the charger 20 mins ago and still no response. Also, my power button broke a whille ago. What can i do? Keep it plugged in until it turns on or should i unplug it for a couple days?
- If I turned my iPhone 5s off for two years and turned it back on, would it still work? I curious. If I didn't take it off my iPhone plan thingamajig and simply shut it down, no communication for two years, would it be able to come back on?
