Using iphone 4 without data plan?

I want to buy an iphone 4 on craigslist and use it as i would an ipod, i don't have a data plan. Is that possible?

Yes. All you need is Wi-Fi access

Yup!

With apple stuff yes within Wi-Fi places- i message will work so will cloud n itunes n safari n everything else - oh n face time too. However you may not be able to make voice calls - unless you have an app for that. But id check with some prepaid mobile companys you may be able to get data only - just web reception for like $20 a month

  • When using Kik messenger on iPhone with your data plan, how much mb does it use? I'm getting an iPhone, and I tend to use kik messenger a lot on my blackberry already. How much mb of Internet does Kik use to send and/or receive messages, and picture messages? Is 500mb too low for someone who tends to use it a lot without Wi-Fi? Answers are greatly appreciated.
  • Using an AT&T iPhone on AT&T without paying for data plan? I have an iPhone 4 a friend gave me for Christmas and I was looking to use it without data and just be able to go on the Internet when I have Wi-Fi, is there a way maybe if I factory unlock it that AT&T will not charge me for a data plan when I put my sim card in?
  • Skype using iphone 4S 4G with At&t s UNLIMITED DATA PLAN? I was wondering if it really is okay to video skype using my phone with the unlimited data plan. I already tried it though, twice, for about 15 mins each and it didn't cost me. I want to chat for as long as I want to (at least an hour). So do you think it's okay and won't charge me extra?
  • If you are using Wi-Fi on an iPhone, do certain tasks use your data plan still? I know using Wi-Fi is very efficient to slow down your data plan usage, but does it completely eliminate using data out of a monthly data plan on phones or does it just cover part of your everyday tasks? Say I was on Wi-Fi and watched videos all the time, downloaded apps all the time, etc. And I was also under Verizon 4g. Would the Wi-Fi completely cover all of that browsing and usage or would any of the data "leak" from my data plan?
