Using my iphone 5 in france?
I have a couple questions about using an iphone 5 in france. Is it easy to go to france and get a pre-paid sim card? Don't want to deal with a lot of hassle once i'm there. The main reason i want my phone is for emergency reasons (in case i get lost, can't find the hotel, etc), but not sure the sim card thing is worth it if it's complicated to do.
When I got my iPhone, they told me to call the phone company (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) ad tell them about your trip. They'll make your data and what not allowed in France.

If you only want a sim card in order to be able to make calls, it'd be better to leave the iPhone 5 at home and bring a cheaper mobile. In France you'll find low cost sim cards at any bar tabac (see the links below). I only know about 2 low cost sim cards: Lebara and Ortel, they cost around 10€ but have 10€ credit call included, I don't know how Internet works with those cards, I suppose it's ok. To buy those cards, you just have to go to a bar tabac and ask for a sim card, then activate your sim card from internet, it's very easy and fast.
If you want a sim card that will allow you to use all the functions of the iPhone, then, go to one of the main mobile phone French operators: Orange or Sfr, they both have stores at many places of Paris, like the Champs Élysées avenue. To buy one of these cards, you need to show your passport and an invoice that proves your address: electricity bill, for example. It's very easy.
