Vehicle Protection: GPS tracking without breaking the bank?

I plan to purchase a new vehicle in the next month and was considering ways to protect it. I was curious if there's a smart, simple and cost effective way to do so. I'm thinking of something similar to Find my iPhone which grants the ability to locate the device on a map. I live in a questionable area and want some piece of mind knowing that if my car where stolen that I could locate it.

Let me know what you do to protect your car and what systems you have in place.

If you are willing to pay a monthly fee of around $22, I would recommend Linxup (google it) if you want a one time low charge, go for this one I found at Amazon:

  • Why does my apple cable keeps breaking and how to prevent it from breaking? I had this broken cable for my iPhone I had it for 9 months and it's broken so I bought another one last Saturday and I saw this message again and I only had it for 2 days why does it keep breaking and how do I prevent it from breaking? I want my cable to last for long
  • What GPS tracking iphone apps (cycling and running) can be used without a 3G signal? I have been using both endomondo and mapmyride for my running and cycling. When I came to track my mountain biking neither of the apps would start a workout because I was out in the sticks with no network connection. I wasn't expecting any live maps, but was expecting either one of the above to be able to track my coordinates by GPS, to be uploaded later. Shame really because I like the apps. Do they actually works without a network signal and I'm missing something?
  • What app can I use for gps tracking? I want to track my husband's locations cuz I think he's cheating. All the apps I look at tell me he needs the app on his phone too but he doesn't have an android or iphone. So what app can I use to secretly track his location of his phone? One that works and preferably cheap or free.
  • Options for an playing music from Iphone 5 in older vehicle? I have an older vehicle with a cd player and the cigarette lighter port that you can use for Iphone 5 chargers and etc but no aux port… Is there something on the market I can put in the lighter port that can help play music in the car from my iphone 5? I have looked and can find nothing except buying a new radio system which I really do not want to do, was hoping for a cheaper fix. You can post links that you find or tell me where and what to look for and I will be grateful.
