(Verizon) My iPhone broke.what do i do now?
I have no insurance, no upgrades available, and a whole year before i'm eligible for one. I was playing basketball and my phone broke and i have no replacement phone so what do i do now? Am i gonna have to buy a new phone at retail value or do i just live without a phone for now?
There may be places to get it repaired. It depends on what exactly messed up. But Apple does replacements out of warranty.mine was $150 for a refurbished iPhone 4 about a year ago. My screen and back was cracked and they replaced it out of warranty for that much. You just, obviously, have to give them your current phone. The price may be different for you.who knows.go to the nearest Apple Store. Or call them at 1800MYIPHONE (1800-694-7446).
I'm not sure what you mean by "broke".
Most iPhones when dropped, have a cracked screen, but it's still functional. Many people can use it until they have it fixed. If you dropped it on the power button, it's common that the iPhone is difficult to power up because the switch doesn't work. Plugging the iPhone into a power/charging cord will make it wake up. There are rare instances where the main mother board is damaged or major connector is messed up and it just won't power up, no matter what.
For this discussion, let's presume the phone is non-functional.
Option 1) Make an appointment with an Apple store, take it to them and have them do diagnostics. It's normally FREE to check out the iPhone. If you're weirded out with the Apple store, then take to an independent cell phone repair shop -- get a quote. Most of the time they can fix it. Get it fixed at an independent repair shop, but AVOID the shops located in the big shopping malls. Their overhead is really high and have to charge double what shops on the outside will charge.
Option 2) Sell the iPhone for whatever you can get and buy another, USED market is around $150-170 for a healthy Verizon iPhone 4, 16 GB. A "broken iPhone will bring in less, if doesn't power up, then almost worthless. Then BUY an iPhone. There are lots of people who upgraded to iPhone 5 and sell a perfectly good 4. You can replace it with another iPhone 4 or upgrade to 4S or 5 depending on your greenbacks.
There are a ton of good phones private party for reasonable prices. Occasionally an iPhone 4 can be had for as little as $125, but realistically more like $150-170.
Oh yeah. Don't play basketball with your iPhone.
- Update stopped during ios update own iphone now phones broke I connected my iPhone 4 to my computer (iTunes) and started doing the update through iTunes. About five minutes into the update iTunes in my computer stops working, causing the update to of course stop working. Now my phone will not turn on. On the screen it is black with the 'charge symbol' as if it were low on battery and an iTunes symbol. I have tried turning my phone off and on, but of course it didn't respond.
- My iphone broke, now I need to send it back within 5 days. Will they see my pictures? Okay so my phone broke completely out of nowhere. I have insurance so Verizon Wireless sent me a new phone, on the condition I send the old one back. Now I have a lot of dirty pictures of my current boyfriend and I and I'm terrified they might get a hold of them. Can someone please reassure me that they can't reach my pictures? It was updated to iOS7 so it had a password lock.
- My iPhone broke, can I use my old phone and alter my verizon minutes and data? So, I can't technically afford to get a replacement iPhone but I'm in a 2 year contract. Can I use an old Blackberry and alter my data and minutes plan until my 2 year contract is up and then get a discounted iPhone and enter into another 2 year contract?
