What are my options if my laptop, iPhone or money gets stolen on the subway/NYC?

I'm in college and I can't afford to get anything stolen. I have pepper spray as well. If something does happen, what should I do?

Options if stolen? None really- odds of recovery are slim to none for thefts of those devices. Keep your items secure as possible, and keep your money or at least most of it where pickpockets can't get to it. And ditch the earphones and be aware of your surrondings- make eye contact with people around you. That freaks thieves out.

In that situation your options would be:

Option #1: Buy a new laptop
Option #2: Do not buy a new laptop

Buy one of the apps that allow tracking if stolen. Or be sensible and do not carry a laptop or anything else desired by thieves on subways

Get it insured. Then if something does happen, you can claim it back.

And obviously ensure everything is backed up.

LOL.Options? You either sit there and cry for like 5 mins because that seriously just happened to you or you catch the person in act and embaress the hell out of them. Your best bet is to keep your things close and concealed don't flash your goods out in the open.

get the apps to track your stuff but your probly not going toget very far with that with technology nowadays.
