What are the pros an cons of Mac vs PC?

I'm shopping around for a laptop and I'm utterly clueless about computers. I'm a freshman college student, so I'll need something that can get me through school. Can you please list the Pros and Cons of a Mac, then the Pros and Cons of a PC.

I'm planning on getting an iPhone because I've owned one before and I like it better than all the other phones I've owned.

I prefer Microsoft though because that's what I know how to work and looking at a Mac usually confuses me.

As you can see I'm 50/50 between the two, so I'm looking at what's better for me and what I can get the most out of what I buy.

PS. Price is not an issue. So don't say not to buy a Mac because they're expensive.

Some people are snobbish about their mac and pcs.
Back in the old days PCs were faster and Macs had better graphics.

You can get Microsoft Office for Mac. And you have less virus and malware issues to deal with on a MAC. The only real downside is that your macbook will be a juicy target for thieves.

PC Notebooks are good too, sometimes less durable and can be easily attcked by malware.virus, trojans, root kits, ETC. Make sure you have a good antivirus if you go the PC route.

Mario is right.using mac would be trendy in school as well.

Check if any of your classes that require using Windows software. For example, engineering software for Mac is almost non-existent.

I recommend business laptops. Most aren't ultrabooks, so they're heavier, and bulky. But, sturdier, often serviceable, and support is often better.

Get a Mac if you plan to get a job in media, art, advertising, etc, where they have been popular.
