What australian mobile network should i go with?

I've been with Optus for 6 years now and finally I'm tired of them!

Who would you recommend and why?

I'm looking to get an iPhone 5c

Now I'm not going to rave on about it but I could for hours but go amaysims it's powered by Optus and it's growing to be one of Australia's most popular carrier the deals are amaysim haha get it

Telstra. Sure, their customer service sucks, but their plans are at least decent value, and their coverage can't be beat by anyone. I would have said Kogan Mobile (they had by far the best plan in Australia) but they were shut down.

Go with Hello Mobile. They give you unlimited calls and text with 1GB data. The cost is $30 for 30 days

  • Would I be allowed? (Australian)? I'm boarding a QANTAS plane and going from QLD to VIC (Melbourne), would I be allowed to put my iPhone (5) to airplane mode and turn it off and just use it to take pictures on the plane? It will just be through my window, and if I'm taking it through the opposite side of me, i will ask their permission.
  • Will an Australian Iphone 4s work in New Zealand? My Nana lives in australia and has an Iphone 4s to give to me. She has used it but need the screen replaced as it was dropped on the bathroom tile floor. But she is getting it replaced for me. I'm not sure where she purchased it from, I do think I will have to get it unlocked because she was on a plan that you pay it off for 24 months. I'm not too sure if it can be and if so where? I would ask her but she doesn't know squat about technology.
  • Wi-Fi on iPhone keeps saying unable to join network (my network name)? How can I fix this! It's been like this for a week but it works on my laptop fine. I tried unplugging it for a few seconds, I tried resetting network settings, I tried turning my phone off then on again, and I know I'm typing it right. I even typed it in upper case AND lower case. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
  • Where can I get a good Australian plug in for my iPhone USB cord? I'm going from the US to Australia, and all I need is something that can plug in to an Australian outlet without blowing up my phone. Where can I get one of these that will actually work, and won't cost me a ton? Links are appreciated!
