I have found myself in a situation where my boyfriend his brother and I live with their mothers boyfriend. There have been many problems occurring in this house but the worst is that his daughter who doesn't live here has been coming over here for months and without our knowledge has been not only breaking into our rooms has also been stealing from us. It has become so bad were out almost a thousand dollars in possessions. Some of the items include 4 bottles of expensive perfume, shirts and pants, a tobacco pipe, and now an Iphone. The worst part is that her father knows about it and is not only lying to cover his daughters ***, he is also condoning it. We're absolutely infuriated by this and recently confronted the father. He won't do anything to compensate us and I was wondering if there's anything we can do about this. Thoughts?
Best to use CCTV, if that is not practical then use a smartphone hidden somewhere and recording. If you get some incriminating footage, then keep quiet and get more footage the go to the police.
We have thought about that but its almost unpredictable when she will come over, and we don't want yet another phone to be stolen in the process.
