What can I do when my iPhone four is overheating?
It's charging and I've let it sit for at least an hour.
They always heat up when charging. If you think its getting to intense, try a different charger or simply unplug it for a little bit and turn it off until it cools back down.
Take it back to the retail store where you bought it and ask the retailers for advice. If the phone has a serious problem, that causes the overheating *which can even be dangerous), they might even replace it with a new phone in place of the current one. Just act in time. They may not do that for you weeks later.

I'm currently running on ios 6.1, iphone 4, with jailbreak, wanting to restore and update the phone. So i started this process about a half hour ago, and since then it has told me so update the phone, it will be four hours, and not even a megabyte of data has changed, it just stood like that.
