What can I do with a stolen iPhone?

Okay, I've had my current iPhone for nearly a year. But yesterday, the screen cracked when it dropped on the ground. My brother gave me this phone last year saying someone sold it to him for a good price. I think it may have been stolen(not by my brother, by who sold it)

Could apple get me a new iPhone 4? Or can they at least fix the screen. It's in awful condition.

Please don't hate, I'll report unhelpful("troll") answers.

Is The screen that badly cracked?

If it was reported stolen… That would give it a bad ESN. Which means you can't use it on that network anymore.

If the phone was reported stolen, its blacklisted, and you wouldn't have been able to use it to begin with… Hence, if you were using it as a phone, it was never reported stolen.

Corvato is right, but to know if Apple would do anything with your phone for free, you can find out if you have warranty on the phone (link below). I doubt it will (since you got it a year ago and it was used) but you never know. If not they will charge you for it.

If you suspect it to be stolen, don't give it to iphone customer care since it must be blacklisted and you can fall in some trounle. Also don't connect to the internet otherwise they will catch you.
i recommend that you repai it from any local mobile repair shop

Apple will fix the screen for $199
