What counts on the data plan for the iPhone?

I just got a iPhone and this is my first smartphone so I had to get a 2 gig data plan. I have no idea what a data plan is and I don't know hat counts towards it. I just had a few questions like if I'm in public using iMessage will that count towards my data plan. If I put apps and music on via my computer does that count? Uf I get text from people will that count towards it? And is there a way to see how much data on my data plan I have used?

Anything that involves internet.

iMessage using 3G counts
Transferring from a computer does not.
Texting is not data.

Basically, if you use
Your browser
YouTube
Netflix
The App store
Anything you can download

That all uses data. Unless you are on Wi-Fi

You can only check data usage by contacting your phone carrier

What counts on the data plan
Apps when you are using them (etc. Facebook), not when you are downloading them
Safari
Really anything that requires internet.
Nothing counts on the data plan if you are in a Wi-Fi hotspot

  • Where to get a device that counts calories? I saw them on biggest loser, its like an armband and it counts calories, where can i get a cheapish one say 50 dollars, and does it count calories you do when you do weights like leg press etc? BQ: is there an app that does similar kind of thing on Iphone and i can just wear it in an armband while i work out?
