What counts as data usage on the iPhone 4S?
So basically, I just want to know what counts as data usage. & also, if you have unlimited Internet, does safari still count as data usage?
About 90% of all apps count as data usage… Anything that downloads or uploads information to and from the internet…
and yes, even though you have unlimited, its still using data
Anything done needing internet access done using 3G/4G. Even if you have unlimited internet it will still count, of course you pay a flat fee no matter how much internet/data you use in that case.
To start out, anything that most be connected to remotely and downloaded to your phone (typically web pages go into what is known as a cache which stores data locally for a set time.)
Pretty much if you turned of mobile data and Wi-Fi and can't access that content than that counts as data usage. It is no different from any other phone. If the tower you connect to has to reach data outside its local sub network than it is data usage.
And yes, even if you have unlimited data plan safari or any internet browser will count as data usage. But on unlimited data plan the usage is more of for record keeping to see how much you use. Unless you download the web page on Wi-Fi and access it in a sort of offline mode than you are generally going to be using data.

I saw them on biggest loser, its like an armband and it counts calories, where can i get a cheapish one say 50 dollars, and does it count calories you do when you do weights like leg press etc? BQ: is there an app that does similar kind of thing on Iphone and i can just wear it in an armband while i work out?
