What do I do about my iPhone that fell in the pool?

So I dropped my iPhone in my pool. It was underwater for a maximum of 3 seconds but closer to 2.It was functioning, 5 seconds later it shut off, and after probably 45 seconds I had it submerged in rice. From any iPhone junkies or past experiences, do you think it will survive?

Well you did the right thing by putting it in rice, if your brave you can take the screen off or the battery and keep it in rice, not much you can do with an iPhone, except get a water proof Otterbox case.

Maybe… Leave it for a while, do not touch it. It could be safe but there's no way to be sure. Just wait a while before trying to use it.

It's been 3 weeks since then, and I'm wondering, is it just done for? Yesterday he said while trying to charge it, it went to the lock screen for a second. He ended up giving it to me, since he got a new iphone.i'm sure its done for, but is there anything I can do to make it work?
