What do I need to make my computer and iPhone work in the UK?

I currently live in the US and am moving to Northern Ireland to study for the upcoming school year. I want to be able to use my computer but I'm worried about the voltage difference. I know I can purchase a transformer but I have read that they are only to be used for short periods of time which obviously will not suffice for me. I have no clue though if that is accurate… I know there has to be something I can do because I'm not the first person in this situation. I checked with the company my computer is made by (Lenovo) and they said they do not have a converted computer adapter for my model… So that is out of the question. Any suggestions? I also want to be able to charge my iphone. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Added (1). I just thought to look at my power cord (duh) and it says 100-240 V and 50-60 Hz so I'm guessing all I will need is an adapter?

You can buy an adapter at airport and plug it in forever. Your iphone will be expensive to ring home so change to a UK network.
