What do snow plow drivers do when its not snowing?

I have a quick question. What do snow plow people do for work during the months when there's no snow? I know this seems like a dumb question. There's a girl in my class who said her father drives a snow plow. She seems to always have new clothes and she has an iphone so they must be able to afford it. Or do they just get paid so much during the winter that they don't have to work the rest of the year?

I know a few snow plow operators, and they usually have heavy good licenses. They operate backhoe's etc during the rest of the year. But I guess it is up to the individual.
