What do you suggest I do with my cracked iphone?

I broke my iphone5s in school today! It's pretty bad! Nothing fell or anything just that the screen cracked bad! I was planning on taking it to a person to fix it but it's too expensive! I don't want to pay a lot of money for it because if I pay a lot for it then minus well just buy a new phone! So I went online and watched videos on how to repair it yourself but it's difficult because there's so many wires and if I do something wrong it can ruin my whole phone! Can you guys recommend someone that can repair it really cheap? Or any suggestions? I really want to know you guyses past experiences with cracked phones! It's my first time a phone of mine ever cracked!

Finding someone cheap to do it is a very bad idea, they tend to use dodgy parts and quite often don't know exactly what they're doing. Some places glue the glass causing more problems than fixing them.

Screen replacements do not cost that much, saying you might as well buy a new phone is a bit of an exaggeration. There's a huge price difference between the two. If you want a reliable screen replacement then you have to pay more than what you would like to. You're paying for the quality and experience of the person.

Well you have to pay, no one works for free, next time learn to take care of stuff

It's about $100 where ever you go. We just broke 2. Pay it. Using insurance is more expensive.
