What does Erase and Sync mean on itunes?

Hi, So i'm trying to download music into my iphone and when i plug it into the computer this is what pops-up "The iPhone "*** " is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?" "An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library." What does this mean? What would happen if i click "Erase and sync" Thank you!

An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes account at a time.once you switched to a new iTunes account or a new computer.
