What happens if my teacher breaks my iPhone?
I was NOT being reprimanded, I had it on my desk (which we're allowed to do) and he saw my case and because he liked it, he decided to pick it up and dropped my iPhone causing it to shatter. Is he responsible for replacing it? I was just at a loss of words at that moment lol

Yeah, but that goes with anyone who breaks something. So if it was your friends and not your teacher, they should still pay to replace it.
Think if someone crashes into your car while it was parked and you weren't in it. They have to pay for it not you.
If you are permitted to have the cell phone on the desk in your classroom then the teacher is responsible for the damage. He shouldn't be touching your phone anyways. I wish I was allowed to have my phone in class! Lol
Yes, if he picked it up and dropped it, then he needs to replace it. Tell him he broke it and you expect a new one, and if he doesn't then I would make sure your parents are aware of it and also the principal in the school. I'm sure the principal will agree and let your parents handle it if he doesn't.
